Argos Additions - AVOID

How utterly frustrating and decieving this company is.

I ordered a pair of shoes for my daughter on 21st June which were stated as being IN STOCK. I was told delivery would be by 2 July. 2nd July comes and goes... nothing. I look on the website and it states that delivery to be 4th July. 4th July comes and goes.... nothing.

I have spent all day trying to get through to them and their customer service is so inundated they are taking no further calls. (No surprises if that is the service they offer). Get through to someone by pressing a different number only to be told that they were never in stock and they are still awaiting delivery and they are 'expecting it' on 21 July - a whole month since my first order.

I am furious. They took my payment immediately. My money has sat in their account for weeks. In good faith I ordered some Crocs on the understanding they had them in stock. They took my money knowing full well they were deceiving me.   I've told them that I want an immediate refund (except I have been told this can take up to 5 working days:rolleyes: ) and will be forwarding a complaint to Trading Standards as I cannot believe a company is able to take customers money on the pretence they have the items when they know full well they do not.

I had problems with Marshall Ward in the past over this sort of thing. Now I realise they are one of the same. I told the guy I was speaking too that both the companies are a complete shower. Aaaaaaaaarrgh

I just want to point out that Additions Direct is NOTHING to do with Argos and hasn't been for years.

Oh yeah of course, Doh! I'll change it now. It is a habit as it was known that a few years ago!

Anyway, whatever their name they are still completely useless.

I was gonna order some trainers from there, but I don't have an account with them I'd have to pay by debit card... don't think I'll bother now!!

Wotnext, at least you got through...is all I can say. Abound and additins have merged. Before the merge I ordered a bracelet, a tv and a psp. Was given estimated delivery dates for all. Now the tv was coming from there warehouse the bracelet and psp was coming from manufacturer. The bracelet came on the sat by recoreded post. It was not what we had in mind and was of poor quality considereing the amount of money being paid. This was on the 23rd of June, I have tried almost every day since then at various times of the day to be told the same message as you Wotnext. I cannot send it back as it states on my statemwnt that they need to be told before sending back and am not even sure where I am supposed to send it back to??
The tv came earlier than estimated and that was great all is well. Now as the psp delivery was while we were on holiday we got someone to stay at our house on the expected day...it never came when looked on the website the date has now changed to 2 weeks later? As I so mad that I cannot get through to any department I decided to contact them through email.
I got a reply saying that my email would normally be addressed within 24hr..however, due to the sale it would be 3DAYS!!!!
I know that I will not be ordering anything major from them again if you cannot get through to anyone..How do they expect to get orders ..I couldn't even get through to them?!!

    complaint to Trading Standards

before you waste your time doing that, you need to read through their T&Cs carefully. You agree to them at the time of opening an account or placing an order.
In there it will clearly state that the information that is giving at the time of order is only an estimate. They do not and have never guaranteed delivery. When they accept the order in principle and it is subject to availablility. They still take the payment and thats the way they do it.

You agree to their T&C's and TS will do nothing
