Android WiFi connection widget

Apologies if this should be in the Mobiles thread, I felt this was the most appropriate.

I have been using WiFi Manager for some time now but lately it has been acting strange, it shows the WiFi network I am connected to when WiFi is switched off(?). I like to be aware of which WiFi I am connected to so I would like any recommendations probably of a similar app that would do that - I have looked in the market but nothing seems to fit the bill

What phone and version of Android are you using?

I have a Nexus 4 with the stock android on. When I use a 2 fingered swipe down from the top of the screen to see the brightness/settings/wi-fi/battery etc. options I see the name of the wi-fi network I am connected to in the wi-fi box. No extra stuff is required.

Does your phone not have similar features?

Actually, your right. Yes I do have that but I guess I am used to older Android where that didn't exist! I have a widget for 'settings' and never swipe down on the right
