Drilling into tile or grout?

Hi
I need to install a loo roll holder and a shelf in my bathroom , the tiles are good quality ceramic , do i drill through the grout to install , or through tile ?
If i drill through grout , will it `dislodge` tiles ?
I know i shouldnt use hammer function , masonary bit ,plus masking tape the area first but any other tips welcome , such as what plugs to use and screws ?, i am assuming i need certain scews where the thread wouldnt be touching the tile as it tightens?
Cheers

Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

Get yourself a tile bit, not a masonry bit. Take it slowly and yes, double masking tape thickness to prevent slipping. I always use Uno wall plugs now - good for any wall type - solid or dot n dab.0

Normal screws will be fine, just don't over tighten!0

It doesn't really matter if you drill through a tile or through grout, just try and avoid drilling at the edge of a tile as the drill bit will slip and slide easily, but even that can be done successfully with care.0 -
I use drill all bits, rotate the chuck back and forward to break the glaze on the tile before you start to drill.0

Make sure you push the wallmplug through the tile and fully into the wall. This will stop the tile cracking when the plug expands from the screw going in.0
