    hi,
I can see the point of view that you are putting across and agree with you but i am really worried that we won't be able to go and i will let my kids down.did you need to provide any evidence that your parents are paying or did the OR just accept it.
    thanks again.

I just told them, as the flight hasn't been paid for yet & my mum told me about it in a phone call. Whether it went any further than my initial conversation I don't know, as I never heard mention of it again. If I get asked about it at a later date, I'll be able to provide a copy of the ticket once it's paid for which will prove it was bought through a travel agent in the West Indies, & which will therefore back up my original statement.

Children are very resilient, & unless they're geography whizzkids or have been to the place before & remember it, they're not likely to know whether it's the Canaries or anywhere else, as long as the weather's good enough for them to enjoy themselves. :) If you find you can't afford to go there, choose somewhere cheaper with similar weather & talk that up to them - as long as they're still going away somewhere, they probably won't care. :)

I honestly don't think the OR's going to say you can't go, but you'll have to be realistic. If you're only allowed say £40pm to put towards a holiday, do you think you can save up the money from your living expenses that you'll need to cover the cost plus spending money etc? If you don't think you can, then it might be better to change your destination at this stage rather than pay more on the holiday & then realise very late in the day that you can't afford to go. I think you should look at your SOA once you've put it together, look at your finances again once the OR's assessed your case to see what money you've actually got to work with & then make a decision. Only you can know whether you can put the money together in time, but I still think you should tell the OR about the trip.

I could but Martin says we have to be nice:p' , What IS your problem? I've seen on your previous posts you've been advised to go bankrupt?? Why not just get on with it instead of making unhelpfull comments on here!

Yes- I applaud the fact that you are 'battling' your debts but sense you have an inherent dislike of Bankruptcy. If it could free YOU then why not do it?

Your comments are not helpfull or welcome.

Broken Hearted has a £150pcm mortgage on her home. This will be put at risk if she does go bankrupt. She seems to enjoy stirring things up, but is relatively harmless.

She presents as someone who would dearly like to go bankrupt, but has too much too lose, and therefore has trouble coping with people who are in a position to go bankrupt. Rather than be supportive, she chooses to post flamatory posts and encourage bad feeling.

It is a shame, as you so clearly point out, it is admirable to successfully tackle your debts, but as someone with no intention of bankruptcy or little support or empathy for bankrupts, I fail to see why she is so obsessed with the board.

Nevermind, MSE is full of weirdos (as well as truly fab wonderful helpful people) so ignore the !!!!!! and focus on the helpful posts.

Or on the other hand she doesn't like people who cheat the system, try to fool the OR or use bankruptsy for personal gain. No I wouldn't like to go bankrupt, the debt I have is very small. I've just had a free holiday ok only Pontins but hey it's a holiday.
The first post was tounge in cheek, the second was helpful.

Please don't let this be another thread that descends into a pointless argument (not targeted at anyone in particular).

That is not what this board or the vast majority of posters are here for.

Ok...hear what you're saying. But-correct me if I'm wrong-had you not been given advice that it was best for you to go bankrupt???

Is there not some way out re: your house-ie buying interest??? It's obvious that your debt is affecting you (as it does us all) but maybe if BR has been reccomended you should give it a go?

I'm a very logical person but it took me a good few months soul-searching (don't ask me why-the logic is of course that BR was best for me-possibly just silly pride getting in the way?) to 'do the deed' -IFEEL 10 TIMES BETTER-ALMOST RE-BORN!

Broken hearted-why do you not want to go bankrupt? I'm not prying but it may be best for you? Really really not saying 'yes-you have to do it' but would be genuinely interested in you reasons for opposing it.

Matty-yes-you can have your holiday! I work in the holiday trade & you would lose your deposit/free kids places, etc if it was cancelled (this can be mentioned to the OR at the meeting if questioned-I personally would not make a big thing about it-just put down a figure to save a month towards it on your SOA & only go in to dates/final prices if asked).

The OR will allow for holidays. Again-in the very very unlikely event it's challenged reiterate what I said about losing 'early booking discounts', free places, etc....Also if a monthly allowence for a holiday is NOT allowed (highly highly highly unlikely) you can easily contest this. I'm sure someone (fermi??!) will confirm the appropriate link!!!!

If you HAD NOT already booked it you'd STILL be ok to put the allowence down-but the fact it's booked & you'd lose the deposit if cancelled should be the nail in the coffin in the 0.1% chance the OR will even mention it!!

Sorry about me taknig the thread a bit 'off topic' but I thought broken hearted comments were out of order.
