Sorry if this sounds thick! I've always used asda smart price cat litter as it's £1.20 ish a bag. I've just been reading on another thread about clumping cat litter, can anyone tell me the difference and if it works out more expensive to use?
Thanks

With non-clumping the cat does its business until the tray full of litter gets too soiled to use. Then you chuck the lot away and refill the tray.
Clumping cat litter sticks to the p and forms into a ball. Using a scoop you then remove these balls along with the solids and throw them away. Every so often you'll need to top up the tray to replace what's been removed.
I find clumping litter is over all more economical than non-clumping.0 -
Thank you. Might give it a try!0

I have just switched to a clumping litter. I previously used the crystal one (Sanicat) which was great but one of my cats was ill and was using the litter tray really frequently and a bag costing over £4 was lasting about 5 days.
I am now using World's Best Cat Litter and although it is £13.90 for a 6kg bag (on Amazon) it is lasting better than the crystals were and is more pleasant to use as the tray constantly looks clean when you have cleaned out the lumps, whereas the crystals ended up going more and more yellow. It works out expensive to start with as you have to fill the tray, but after that you just top it up. It does track a bit but it is great other than that and I am going to continue using it.What goes around comes around.....I hope!0 -
with five cats to keep clean (all indoor), I switched to Asda's smart price wood pellets and find this is the most economical and least smelly option for me. Give it a try and see what you think!0

Clumping all the way for me since I was persuaded to try it!
Added benefit is that you really do hardly ever need to do a full tray change!
Although expensive to fill the trays (it has to be really deep to work properly), it is much, much more economical long term :TGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

works out 1.25 per cat per week as 2 bags cost 19.99 and last my 4 cats a whole month.
Very economical.0
