No one listens

Options
Hello all , right here we go .
back in 2009 I had my head in the sand earnings were low outgoings were high , I ended up with a ccj and defaults all over the place . Since then I woke up and spoke to all I owed money to made arrangements and now I am left with only 3 companies I owe money to and two years left on a ccj . Since then my earnings have doubled and I am in such a better place with money . I owe 10k with 3 companies showing a default notice on my file every month , better than 8 I suppose . I have half the available equity in my house. BUT , gone to my bank with the question of that was my status , this is now my status with payslip evidence of the last three years and they say sorry , computer says no. The idea being was that I chucked the outstanding monies on my mortgage pay every one off and I owe no one except mortgage company . No one listens to what I can do now im being judged on what happened in 09. As for the default on my credit file each month what can I do about that . Im paying the agreed amount per month but it always shows a massive red D . Do I plod the high street until someone listens , but feel im wasting my time . I spoke to a company today who would lend me 10k but wanted 40k back mmmmmmm. I know I messed up should have spoke to people sooner yes im that bit older and have been burnt by the experience , but now I can breath with my paypacket and have paid and continued paying my debts ,but no one listens . So what do I do now ? Wait for a couple of years by which time Im sure I will have a bald patch around my grey hair , do I debt consolidate with one of these IVA jobs and be debt free in however long they are currently saying . Don't know where to start or whats the best course of action. Help please....

Sorry to say it but you could plod the high street for years and your are still be incredibly unlikely to get a loan for 10k when you have defaults on your file.

If your earning have doubled and you are in a better place with money, pay as much as you can on your debts, its all you can do. I don't think you owe enough for an IVA but I could be wrong.

No one is judging you. However many companies lost money when you originally defaulted. So you have to earn the right to be trusted again. Painful lesson yes. But that's life. Stick with it.

You may well find that your creditors will accept partial settlements of the remaining debt owed. Won't help your credit rating. However will allow you to get on with your life.

How much are you paying to your £10k debts currently a month?

How long will it take to repay them at the current rate?

If you are managing the repayments now then it seems unlikely that an IVA or any other debt solution would be a sensible solution at this time. And if you did enter in to an IVA, for example, then your credit file will actually be affected for far longer.
As for the default on my credit file each month what can I do about that .
The defaults/credit account history will stay on your file for 6years from the original default date shown on your file. After that the whole record of the account will drop off your file.
The monthly D markers are not new defaults each month, they simply indicate that the account did default within the last 6years and is not yet fully paid off.
