Mobile phone insurance miss selling

I have just cancelled the £12/month insurance on my sons mobile phone, having checked with my home contents insurance that items, such as mobiles, away from the home are covered. I have asked for a full refund of 18 months premiums, but only silence so far.

I see this as blatant miss selling. The sales person could have asked if I had home contents cover, as this covers mobiles etc. I didn't need the insurance. All sounds very similar to PPI.

Will be interesting to see if I get anywhere.

Or you could have said, thanks but I already have cover under my home insurance.

The cover may be different. Your home insurance won't cover breakdown or unauthorised calls and be subject to a higher excess. I suggest you compare the cover between the two.
