In order to have a valid claim I think you would need to prove that they were negligent. Prior to the surgery I suspect your wife was given a disclaimer along with a talk about things that can go wrong, of which I suspect further surgery would have been mentioned.0

They relocated the port. As the original one was it at 90deg. The surgeon blamed my wife's ribcage.
Perhaps my wife's ribcage could reimburse the fuel.
I don't think it was one of those things but poor judgement on the surgeons part.0 -

I don't think it was one of those things but poor judgement on the surgeons part.
Then you'll need to prove it.
I wish her luck with her weight loss. Even as a former fatty I have never understood why someone needs a foreign object inside them to tell them they need to stop eating.0 -
Thank you. I am sue I am not equipped to prove such.
As a former fatty myself, I understand your comment. Everyone is unique and even if it is only placebo or mind over matter etc then I will support her decisions.0 -

If this is your belief then seek advice from a lawyer specialising in medical negligence cases.0 -
Unless you can prove negligence then you have no claim and it will be treated as just one of those things.0

Unless you drive a Hummer, expecting 40ppm from them is likely to get their back up. Calculate it on real life cost - my 2.5L V6 costs half of that in fuel.0

HMRC currently allow up to 45ppm for mileage claims. This figure takes into account both petrol and the cost of ownership of the car itself. Most businesses pay 40 (if they haven't changed since the last update a few years back) or 45 ppm.
As such it would be a completely reasonable amount to claim.0
