The competition opens Thursday 1st May 2014, and closes at 18.00 on Tuesday 1st July 2014.
Entrants must be residents of the United Kingdom, and aged 18 or over to qualify. Proof of residency may be required to qualify valid entrants. Employees of ActivInstinct (the promoter) and the individual prize partners (Columbia, South Carolina CVB and TravelPlanners) are ineligible to enter this promotion. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of Eligible Participants.
Entry is via the ActivInstinct website (www.activinstinct.com/competitions/Southcarolina) and also via the Escapism website (www.escapismmagazine.com/competition/south-carolina) entrants from both sites will be combined with one successful winner drawn. No purchase necessary. All data collected will be pooled for the competition prize draw. Incomplete entries will not be included. It is the entrants' responsibility to complete the entry form in full. The promoter (and prize partners) are not responsible for any technical issues (or other), which impede an entrants' entry being submitted correctly and/or in full. The promoter (and prize partners) are not responsible for any changes in e-mail, mailing address and /or telephone numbers provided at time of entering the prize. The promoter (and prize partners) are in no way liable for the reproduction or indirect access via third party web site or home page access which reproduction misstates or omits any of the information or terms and conditions connected with the promotion.
The competition prize draw will take place early July 2014, with the lucky selected prize winner notified by 15th July 2014. The winner will be chosen at random by an independent judge. The judge’s decision is final, and no further correspondence will be entered into. Once notified (via the email address supplied at point of entry), the winner will have 14 days to reply with acceptance of their prize. Should the selected winner not reply within 14 days of being notified, then it will be deemed that the prize winner has forfeited their prize, and a re-draw will take place. Same rules will apply for the re-drawn winner (should this scenario occur). If after 14 days there has been no acceptance notification received, then the prize will be cancelled.
The ONE competition prize consists ONLY of the below items:

Please note that the following items are NOT included in the prize:
Airport taxes

All other expenses are the responsibility of the prize winner/s.
Both travellers must be over 18 years of age. Both must hold a valid in-date passport, and visa (if required) for travel to South Carolina and, where necessary, must have necessary vaccinations and inoculations together with documentation proving this. Passports require a minimum 6 months validity from date of travel. They must arrange comprehensive medical insurance cover for themselves for the duration of the promotional travel as travel insurance is NOT included in the prize.
The prize is personal and cannot be exchanged, refunded or redeemed for cash or any other prize. There is no cash or trip alternative. Prize is valid for departure on dates between 11 July 2014 and 30 September 2015. Certain US holidays e.g. Thanksgiving and blackout dates may apply. The prize must be booked in full (including sea kayak tour date) by 30th September 2014 and if not, the prize is rendered null and void. Booking is subject to availability. Prize cannot be substituted for any reason.
Prize winners must successfully apply for and purchase an ESTA visa to authorise entrance into the United States of America. Further information on obtaining this visa can be found at the following website: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/.
Columbia shall provide both the competition winner and their companion with the clothing outlined below and all stock and sizes is subject to availability and selection must be confirmed to Columbia by 31st July 2014.
This promoter (and prize partners) have the right to change or withdraw the competition and/or prize elements at any time, and without prior notice. The promoter (and prize partners) also reserve the right to provide substitute prizes (of similar value) should the specified prize become unavailable for reasons beyond their control.
The promoter and prize partners do not take any responsibility for any liabilities, nor do they take any responsibility for any disappointment, injury or loss incurred by the prize winner from accepting the prize or participating in the promotion.
