Genworth Financial - Success or so I thought!!!

After two years of battling I finally got an offer from Genworth of £759.00 in January this year with the cheque to follow a month or so later. Well it is now April and still no cheque. I have called on numerous occasions and apprently they cancelled the first cheque and sent me another one which has also disappeared. I called again and got told it can take four weeks to send post from Jersey!!!! I did say to the girl I don't think that is true and that maybe you just don't want to send me settlement where she proceeded to say I was calling her a liar. I now have to wait another ten days to phone back after numerous emails for them to again cancel the cheque and post it to me in Jersey where apprently they will send it by registered post. As an insurance company they have informed me that they do not use BACS (again I think this is bull). Has any actually received any remittance from Genworth or is it just me they are messing about? I am giving them till next week and I will ask them for their address in Ireland and hopefully send one of my mates round and see if they can get it that way. If anyone can offer me advice on how to deal with this it would be greatly appreciated.:money:

Actually, a lot of financial companies still use cheque rather than BACs in many areas to reduce the chance of loss.Has any actually received any remittance from Genworth or is it just me they are messing about?
yes they have.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Ok well that's two cheques lost in the post so that hasn't reduced that loss. I just don't believe that it takes 4 weeks for post to leave Ireland and come to Jersey everyone else that sends post gets it here the next day. What should I do next?0

I wasn't suggesting they issue the cheque to my "mate" but my mate can hand collect it for me as they seem incapable of posting it but thank you for your sarky comment0

Any journey to the offices of Genworth by your "mate" (or even in person, yourself) is just a waste of time.
Accusing them of not sending the cheque when they say they have is equally futile.0 -

My cheque from Genworth took almost five weeks to be delivered from Ireland to north west England. The offer letter said it would be issued in 30 days time, after the date on the letter. I'd give yours at least four weeks and then phone them to see if its actually been posted to you, it should be noted on their systems0
