I have just passed my test (Female, 23) and am looking to buy insurance for my car (Skoda Fabia, don't laugh). Anyone got any idea how much it will cost roughly? Any recommendations on insurance providers?
Thanks
Thanks

Impossible to predict as the cost will be based on numerous factors including age, profession, location, exact vehicle specification, vehicle age, value, driving type, class of cover, named drivers etc. etc.
I can safely say, however, it'll be more than you want to pay, but you'll have no choice other than to pay it if you ever want to see cheaper premiums. Or drive illegally without insurance; and if you do that, you deserve to go to prison for life... or at least receive a hefty fine.0 -
Somewhere between £400 and £10,000
No particular insurer is worth recommending, just follow the normal process - there is a guide on this site - and just go with the one that provides the best value (avoiding Swintons of cause)0 -

There are these things on the internet called comparison websites, I am amazed you haven't heard of them as they are constantly being advertised by robots and meercats.0 -
The best quote by far I've had is from Aviva, they don't show up on comparison websites. Its worthwhile seeing what they can do for you.
I find the insurance price is mostly based on postcode over anything else.
..and Skoda Fabias are fantastic cars! I had one in British Racing Green0 -
(Skoda Fabia, don't laugh)
Why would anyone laugh? They are excellent cars and a good choice for a new driver. The days of the old Skoda jokes are long past.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -
My son found the best deal with Bell insurance a branch of Admiral. Came with a tracker box to monitor his driving.0

For old farts like me...
Customer: Can I have a radio for my Skoda please?
Dealer: Sure - that sounds like a fair swap.0 -

I'm surprised that a 23 year old can remember Skoda jokes.

Why do Skodas have heated rear windows? To keep your hands warm while you push!
They weren't actually as bad as their reputation, though the rear engined ones could be a bit scary in the wet.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0
