Can you recommend any kitchen companies

Apologies if this has been round before, but I scrolled through the last few pages and don't see anything.
I've lived with my kitchen for ten years and can FINALLY afford to do something with it. It's pretty small, galley style, in an ex LA house, so nothing 'Homes and Garden' required. I'm a bit of a useless girlie so I need a fitter and supplier and ideally the same people can then tile and refloor (yes, I'm saving hard....). Is anyone prepared to stick their neck out and recommend anyone? Is there another thread you can point me to?
Sadly there is no useful man who can do anything. I'm a bit handy myself, so I'll hopefully be able to do some of the stripping out myself and could even probably build the units, so maybe I should buy a kitchen and get a handyman separately? I've been told this works out cheaper? BUT I want the comfort of a kitchen company to come out and measure up, order the units, plus I need a new oven, but guess that can come from anywhere.
TIA for any replies!

Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!

Magnet gets my vote and they have a 50% off sale at the moment.0

looking into kitchens ourselves but what I have been told by several sources is that buying units made and put together by manufacturers means they are often stronger, plus as was pointed out to me, if you are paying someone to put them together ie kitchen fitter it is false economy0

I'm using Howdens at the moment for a new kitchen. Love their kitchen design they've done for me. But they aren't currently allowing me a full breakdown of costs and discount. So difficult to compare like-for-like to what I could buy elsewhere.
May look at Magnet for the same design and try and figure it out!0 -

I've just bought from Howdens. No complaints whatsoever.0 -
I've used both Howden's & Magnet in the past, but for my most recent kitchen refit I've gone with Benchmarx. For pretty much the same model kitchen that all the suppliers stock they were the ones who proved to best on price.
Most companies, including the sheds such as Homebase & B&Q will send somebody out to do a design if you lead them to believe that you want them to do the fitting.
Source all your own appliances & things such as sink, taps handles etc. as you will save a fortune.
It shouldn't be too difficult for you to find a fitter yourself. Some councils keep a list of registered tradesmen, so you could give that a go to start with. You're a bit too far out for the person I've used for a lot of refurbishment work, otherwise I'd have recommended him.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
