Delayed luggage \ baggage claim from insurance company

Simple Query
Is it possible to claim for delayed luggage from the airline company and also through my travel insurance company. Basically I travelled long haul (with a couple of changes and a flight cancellation thrown in good measure :-( ) for a interview which was the day after I landed, my luggage did arrive, but 3 days later after my interview. I had to buy pretty much everything, suit, toiletries, pyjamas, winter coat etc. The airline company will only compensate about $300, which is way less than i spent. Am I able to claim from insurance company also? They will only compensate about 200GBP but at least that will cover my costs.

You should be able to claim from the airline and then anything beyond their limit from the travel insurance, although it will depend on the exact terms of your policy.0

Insurance is there to indemnify you and so no, if you get the money back from elsewhere you arent entitled to also get it back from your insurance.
Similar to if you are in a non-fault car accident, you cannot claim for the damage to your car from both your insurance and from the third party.0
