Possible exhaust issues?

On my way home, whilst approaching lights, I noticed a strange scrapping noise from the rear of my 2004 ford focus. When I came to a stop the noise stopped so I guessed something was scrapping along the floor.
When I pulled away the noise was still present but then seemed to stop even though I was still driving. The noise has now become intermittent, even occurring while stationary.
I've had quick check and can't see anything obvious. Does this sound like there may be baffles loose in the exhaust or could it be more serious?
Any ideas?

Get your rear brakes checked us could well be that your down to the metal on your rear pads/shoes.
Wouldn't normally get a scraping noise from knackered baffles.0 -
If the brakes are so worn it's metal to metal the noise will eventually be a permanent noise.0

That rules out brakes.
Baffles will cause a rattle rather than scraping
Grab hold of the exhaust tail-pipe and shake it (sideways and up / down). If you can hear it hitting anything then one of the mounting rubbers is failing or failed. That can produce all sorts of odd scraping, knocking and rattling noises.0
