Have been on dual fuel April 2014 Blue + Price Promise which ends this week. Signed up for EDF successor June 2015 Blue + Price Promise some weeks ago and this will kick in on 1 May. However, on latest bill EDF are saying they now have an August 2015 Blue + Price Promise ! Should we change to this even before the June 2015 one has started? - All very confusing. Any advice please?

Have a look on a comparison site and see how the new tariff fares for your usage.

(It is cheaper but not £52 cheaper so outwith the guarantee. They don't need to tell you. At least they half did.)

I've tried on a couple of threads to mention this. It appears to be the cheapest of the big 6. If I put the June 2015 details in for my usage the August one is £70+ cheaper. My move to extraenergy is only £30 or so cheaper and the FU and OVO are very similar. Also if you look on the edf website you can keep paper bills by calling them and I think this may be the best non paperless tariff for my 80+ year old parents to move from their June 2014 EDF fix.

Glad its not just me that feels the same way.
  • Hi all. I want to also change to the August 2015. But I was going for the July 2015. Can I change it myself on my account. If so is it advisable to wait until tomorrow ( 30/4/2014) or do it on 1/5/14?

Still £75 pa more than the OVO fix I'm moving to; altho' that finishes May 2015 vs August for EDF I'm assuming that the extra costs of Summer months next year will be less than the £75.

Thanks for the info about Aug 2015 tariff. It's only £22 p.a. more expensive than Apr 14 (10,000 gas, 1800 elec) so have switched today. There are enough switching horror stories about the smaller providers that I'm happy to stay with EDF for the time being - with no penalty to leave if I choose to do so later.

There are also enough horror stories regarding the bigger suppliers posted on here and not just switches .

Hi, the terms of the switch to June 2015 are that you can change your mind up to the new tariff starting. Any new selection will also start from 1 May, but you must use the dedicated website link on EDF website.
I have done this yesterday because the electricity unit rate with BPP August 15 is 1.22p cheaper before VAT.
