Hi,
The Halifax Clarity Credit Card comes up with the best interest rate on Travel Money Max.
I already have this card for use when abroad (to pay for items and to withdraw cash if we run out) but we always take some currency with us for smaller purchases, drinks etc.
Can I buy currency/cash in the UK on this card before travelling (to get this exchange rate) and if so how do I do this?
Thanks
SFHL

The only place I've found where this might work (and only for Euros) is here: http://goo.gl/maps/FGDwe I've never tried a Halifax Clarity card here, but I have successfully used a Metro Bank card. There are many other ATMs that dispense EUR, but this is the only one I've found that will actually charge a UK-issued card in EUR.
I doubt that any Bureaux de Change will let you buy foreign currency and pay for it in that currency as this would leave them with no profit to make, and they are probably not set up to work like that anyway.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0
