Hi-
Is there a way to find a will in Scotland? Sudden death in friends family- he's always said he has made a will leaving all to grandkids- now after death his partner has said no will and no money forthe funeral. Difficult time to challenge this so any pointers would be helpful!

If there's no money for the funeral then surely there's no money for the grandkids? Or do you think partner is lying?
Only thing I can think of is to try and establish if there is a solicitor who drew up the will and may have a copy
But quite a lot of people say they have made a will and never gotten round to it - or it says something different to what they have said0 -

Yes, I think usual advice which would apply both north and south of the border is to ask local solicitors if X may have been a client and got them to prepare a will. They may even have a message service which allows you to ask the question once and they send it round all their local buddies ...Signature removed for peace of mind0
