Heat recovery systems (Nuaire etc)

Could someone who has had a heat recovery system (also called Positive Input Ventiliation by Nuaire) please give me an idea as to how much this typically costs?
I know it depends on the layout, house size etc but say for a 4 bed detached?
Also how cold does it get in winter with it on as I know it tries to recover some heat from some rooms but essentially it is blowing out colder air?
Thx.

Hello EY143,
Just to clarify Heat Recovery And PIV (Positive Input Ventilation) are 2 different systems.
PIV involves the process to deliver fresh filtered air into a property at a continuous rate, in doing so moisture laden air is diluted, displaced and replaced to control humidity levels.
Heat Recovery is the process of extracting stale moist air out of wet rooms, this air is ducted to a central unit. This extracted air passes over a heat exchanger before ducting to atmosphere. Simultaneously, fresh air is supplied to the unit, and warmed by the heat exchanger and delivered to habitable rooms.
The running costs can differ between units and properties. Most suppliers will be able to work out running costs and efficiency ratings for you, if you have a particular unit in mind.
Many Thanks
Larry

Thx Larry. I could have sworn that the rep from Nuaire at one of the exhibitions I went to was promoting a heat recovery system but calling it a PIV - taking moist warm air and heating the cold fresh air into a unit in the loft.Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0
