The bus station is just at the bottom of the street from the station, before the Skylink route was changed it stopped outside the station but you have to go down to the bus station now.

Nottingham - Beeston route suffers from Tramaggedon, due to the Nottingham NET project that nobody wants.

I think the Skylink goes from St Margaret's in Leicester which is a good distance from the train station so Notts would definitely be better.

Coming from Herefordshire, I would get the train to Derby and get the airport bus from there, seemed to work quite well.
