Hope someone can help with this.
I`m travelling by train to East Midlands PARKWAY.
Is there a regular shuttle bus service to the airport from here or is it a case of getting a taxi?
Any links would be appreciated.

The shuttle bus was withdrawn some years ago.
It's been replaced by a prebookable shared taxi service

Or a regular taxi0 -
You've probably got time to walk given that all flights are suspended at the moment.

Pity you aren't getting off at Long Eaton, the SkyLink runs every 20 mins. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Where are you travelling from? If it is Nottingham, Derby or Leicester I think they each have their own SkyLink, but if you've already booked the train tickets etc then I don't know, maybe do the shared taxi option mentioned above?

Can you get off the train at Long Eaton or Nottingham rather than EM Parkway?
For your journey Traveline suggests you take the train to one of these stations and then change for Skylink.

I know EM parkway is on the main line from London but it's a pain, if you are coming from the south I would consider getting off the train at Leicester and use the Skylink bus.
The other alternative and easiest station as suggested is Long Eaton.
This is on the Nottingham/Derby line and you pick up the Skylink bus outside the station. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -
Agreed, an awful place, with the cooling towers of the powerstation dwarfing the puny humans. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Do you think they`ll be OK for next Tuesday? :rotfl:
Thanks to everyone for the replies.
Yes, the best way is to get off at either Leicester or Nottingham and use Skylink.
Checking Google maps I think Nottingham could be better for my relative as it`s only a five minute walk to the bus station.
From what I gather my relative will also be able to use his bus pass on Skylink.0 -
Yes you can use a bus pass on Skylink as long as it is after 9.30am on a weekday.
Be aware the bus journey can take over 1 hour as there are road works, so allow enough time.
The bus station is just at the bottom of the street from the station, before the Skylink route was changed it stopped outside the station but you have to go down to the bus station now.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -
