Please help - I've got 2 contractual PCN from G24 Ltd for overstaying in Ladymead car park, Guildford. G24 have sent entrance time & exit time photos of the car no. plate.
I've gone through various posts on the forum suggesting not to pay and challenge the PCN. Just wanted to seek your advice on my case. Should I challenge it? What are the chances of winning it at POPLA?
Thanks for your help.

100% success at POPLA, as the NEWBIES thread tells you (the one at the top with the template first appeal to send).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Appeal to G24 for EACH charge with the following ( I've now lost count how many cancellations this has produced ) :
Dear G24,
This is an appeal against the charge issued to the vehicle with the registration XXXXXX, charge reference XXXX.
It is the registered keepers assertion that :
1. The charge is not a genuine pre-estimate of loss.
2. The signage does not conform to the BPA CoP to which G24 has committed.
3. G24 has no authority to issue charges over the land in question.
As such the charge is rejected. You should now either cancel said charge or provide a POPLA code for the registered keeper to appeal to the independent adjudicator.
Any further correspondence other than confirmation of cancellation or a POPLA code will be considered harassment and could result in legal action being taken against you.

This is not a fine. It's an invoice for monies over an alledged breach of contract. As has been said, do your homework and make this go away at PoPLA appeal for no GPEOL or sooner.Search my post " PoPLA evidence - What to submit" on what is a good defense for a PoPLA appeal.0

Custard did some great work on this last summer. I'm sure he won't mind me saying that, as some 8 months have elapsed since, it does need to be double-checked against some of the more recent templates contained in the NEWBIES sticky.
But it's a great starting point to get your head around the areas to cover and the type of phraseology you will need to use in any POPLA appeal. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thanks .. got 2 more in today's post !! Can you please suggest do I need to make appeal using post or email is fine?
I'm wondering what reason would I provide for staying in the car park for that long? I didn't shop so no receipts. I've gone through the PoPLA link you suggested, must say great work. But will those reasons work in my case?
Thanks again.0 -
Forgot to mention, in the current 2 PCN, the photos of the no. plate are not clear at all. Unreadable ..0

You don't need to supply reasons - just appeal each one separately using Hot Brings letter as is - one for each PCN.
Post is fine but get free cert, of posting from post office
or submit to their on-line appeals service - details on the PCN's
If concerned about this just use Search the Forum with the search term G24 to see how quickly G24 have cancelled when they get Hot's 1st appeal letter.
EDIT: No need to worry about POPLA appeals for the moment - hopefully you won't need to0 -
Thanks all. Have appealed online using the template you provided in the post above
Any idea, how long they take to respond?
Thanks again ..0 -
They will cancel them all before getting to popla, they know that wording template, and they know they have zero chance at winning at popla, so will cut their losses.
As we like to say SodG24When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.
