can a employer make a employee pay employer ni as well as employee ni

Can a employer make a employee pay employer ni as well as employee ni as the company iv been doing some work for has just started doing this, i have a utr number but there saying everyone has to be paye now to do with new rules so i would be paying ni twice every week and that dont make any sense to me ive just had a tax rebate and im fully up todate with my ni payments but all this is beyond me any help would be good.

    Well i was self employed paid my own tax and ni but there saying new rules this month and telling me im paye and there also taking 25 pound out aweek for holiday pay.

    If you are now deemed to be an employee then you do not continue paying the self employed NI contributions.

    I work on the railway for more than one company and two off them so far have started doing this not just to me but everyone.

    Are you being paid through an umbrella company?

    Well if u add self employed NI contributions to this then im paying ni 3 times.

    Yes i do get paid by a umbrella company but it is there own.
