I buy them for someone else in my family (I'm the bargain hunter for the whole family
), I use http://www.visiondirect.co.uk/ (last time I checked their prices were the best I found, but still good to shop around).
Sometimes she also bought contact lenses when on holiday abroad, no prescription needed, just sold over the counter.
She used to buy them from specsavers, like a monthly subscription, but it worked out much more expensive for exactly the same product.
She gets her eyes checked though, she likes to see an optician every now and again to try new types of lenses or to make sure the prescription hasn't changed.0 -
My sister used to use contacts (with grade) and she buys the monthly box. It's got three pairs, so a fresh pair every ten days. It used to cost her $40-50, and that's from three, four years ago! I think the prices are still more or less the same though. Sorry, I don't know how much is the dollar conversion to pounds at present.0

We use tesco opticians and use our clubcard vouchers to buy them
I think we ended up paying £4 (plus some clubcard vouchers) for 90 pairs of Focus® DAILIES® All Day Comfort.
HWTHMBO goes to an independant optician to get his eyes tested etc, then gets the prescription and we use
THIS
to check which company we can get them cheapest. don't forget to co through Quidco or Top Cash Back to see if you can get cashback.just in case you need to know:

Hmmm, just had my contact lens assessment and trial at Specsavers
Have been advised Specsavers sential daily disposable as they are meant to be most advanced technology
Used to wear focus comfort dailies some years ago and am finding these new ones less comfortable
Looking on the web, I cannot see sential anywhere other than Specsavers and wonder if I will be stuck with going onto their pricey plans?
Can I just ask for the prescription and go back to my old focus dailies??0 -
I pay £12 per pair - I use continous wear monthly torics.
I have to pay extra for cleaning stuff, which isn't a lot as I only take mine out/store them once a week. And it was £15 for the first initial optician assessment and no more for six months if I have to see them again.
This is with Asda opticians, very happy with the lenses and even happier with the optician - our local bloke is fantastic.0
