I get monthly lenses from Boots Opticians and I pay £12 a month which includes after care and all checkups. They post me 3 months supply of lenses at a time.

This looks like a great deal though anniewoo. Will have to check them out. Thank you!

Careful of boots. i'm leaving their 'advantage' opticians monthly deal as they mis-sold me more expensive lenses despite me telling them several times I could only afford their cheapest version. It was a huge kerfuffle for me to have to go into the store FOUR times to try and sort it. They've still not sorted it, or listened to my simple request to switch lenses and I'm currently searching elsewhere.
  • I pay £10 per month for monthly lenses with Specsavers - they send out 3 pairs every quarter. This includes the cost of an annual check-up and a free pair of glasses every 2 years (which I have just availed myself of!). I buy my all in one solution from the supermarket for about £5 and it lasts me a couple of months

I have been using daily lenses from daysoft for about 8 years. I have only had one contact lens fitting over ten years ago. I go for an eye test once a year. My eyes are dry but that is due to diabetes so I use moisturising eye drops as well. At £12.50 a month it is cheap. Dailies are easier to use and healthier for the eyes. And at that price you don't have to over use them to save money.
I recommend them to everyone I know.
    Nice to save.

I buy mine from vision direct. Used to be with specsavers but the ones I buy from vision direct are the same lenses and cheaper. I can still get an eyesight test and a contact lens check from specsavers.

Not having an annual contact lens assessment is a false economy. Your eye test is not a substitute. Frankly it's irresponsible of daysoft to sell you lenses without an assessment.

I pay £35 for my toric daily disposables from Specsavers and it is worth every penny. They are not that much more expensive than if I got them direct. I got a free pair of glasses as well. I had 3 trials for lenses before they found ones that were suitable so the assesments that I had were worth it. Took 3 months to find suitable lenses and I salute their perserveerence :D

I have been using daysoft classic for years. They are traditional hydrogel technology but they are also daily disposable so i think they strike the right balance for those who can wear spherical lenses and also have some back up specs. I have eye check ups/tests/retinal cam etc the full hit at intervals specified by my practitioner.

One of the most important things about eyes is to understand your eyes and to have a level of understanding of eye related issues, healthcare, optics, technlogies etc.

Plenty of people will tell you that Si hydrogels are the best but they can and do introduce a whole raft of new problems including injury/infection/conditions due to them being thicker, having more drag, extended wear, excessive wear, poor hygene etc.

Far better to use a traditional daily hydrogel with the right oxygen permeability in a disciplined manner than to spend fortunes on the latest SiH technology thinking you are doing yourself some good and being faced with mechanical injuries and possible infections a couple of years down line.

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
  • I always use price comparison sites to save money as Lensoffers.com, and always look around for offers..its so expensive with lenses and you can save a lot of money if you do some resarch before.

I pay £18/month for monthlies from Specsavers but that is for their most expensive lenses and includes solution, checkups and free glasses. I think it also includes free sight tests as well. I've always been happy with their service, they send me 3 sets of lenses and solution every 3 months in the post.
What goes around comes around.....I hope!
