PPI Calls indication that money is due?

Options
My Husband sadly died last October and I know that at my instigation he made two claims for PPI. One was successful and the other rejected. His financial affairs were at best, messy and I have no idea to whom the unsuccessful claim was made or indeed if there were other institutions to whom he might or should have contacted. Since he died I keep receiving calls from organisations offering to help reclaim PPI.

Does this mean that someone out there knows that there is a potential claim to be made or are they just cold calling hoping to strike lucky?

I would be grateful for any advice.

Cold calling hoping to fleece you I would imagine.
Only this afternoon I had one.
"what are you trying to sell me?"
    "nothing" she says.
    "PPI then." sigh
    "Oh, yes"
"sorry, never had any, not due any back"

She then proceeded to argue with me that I may have had PPI that I never knew about. I've checked, I don't
She then got rather arsey when I explained that I would claim it myself instead of giving her the money. Hung up on her whilst pmsl :D

We all get these cold calling scammers/spammers.

Your personal insurance data is not in the public domain. it is just phone book trawling cold calls.

When cold callers ask if I've ever had a loan, I respond that I'm not alone and repeat this until they get the message. They soon give up trying convince me..;)

Just sales people. Just like once upon a time they would convince you that you need new double glazing.

I'm certain your recent bereavement is causing you to want to believe these cold callers.

    Condolences.

Thank you. It was made more credible because I do not divulge my mobile number to anybody. The bank however were fairly insistent and so I provided it on the proviso that it was not used for anything other than emergencies. Since then, as I mentioned before, I have had countless calls from these people.

The "Bank" are not making these calls, they are just randomly generated.
It won't be the Bank who have sold your number to a Claim company!

Sorry I wasn't suggesting that the bank were making the calls but I do wonder at the coincidence of my mobile number suddenly being available to these companies after giving it to he bank.
