Condenser boiler

Should a condenser boiler be switching itself on and off during the day? I have it switched off at the timer switch in the house but it still comes on by itself. Any ideas? Is this normal?

I don't know if its combi or heat only. How would I tell the difference if I looked at it? I'll have to check the make and model.0 -
It will be the eco program kicking in.This keeps the water hot in the boiler so you have instant hot water. If you turn it off you will have to wait about 20 seconds for the water to get hot.0

If you don't have a hot water tank then it's a combi, and hot water is not stored but produced on demand. I'm sure you must be aware of which system you have in that respect?
Could be the 'pump exercise' function on the programmer if it only comes on at the same time in the day for a a few moments. Or a frost 'stat kicking in-though not likely in this weather.
I agree that it's most likely the hot water function on a combi with a small reservoir. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Its a Warmflow boiler. Does this eco function use a lot of oil or just a sip? How can I switch this function off? There doesn't seem to be any obvious button on the boiler to do that.0

do you have the model number of the boiler and is it gas or oil?0

There are boilers on the market now that are a hybrid design, ie they do have a limited storage withing the boiler casing.
I'm no expert on boilers but came across this last week when sorting my new boiler.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
