I find the same principle applies to staff working in most high street Travel Agencies when considering holiday destinations.

I understood the instructions on how to fill in a passport application just fine thank you. As stated, I had used the service as it was cheaper than send a postal order. If I'd have sent the application myself it wouldn't have been refused!

Well, thumbs up to HMPO... my passport arrived today after I sent them my birth certificate on Monday.

Thumbs down to the Post office as I'm still awaiting a response to my complaint

And I think your extremely rude, how can you tar all high street travel staff and post office staff come to that with the same brush, we're not all thick and some of us have travelled the world and can give first hand experience.

Of course some can, but many high street TA and PO staff and bank staff etc etc are only there to maximise sales, regardless of what they know

regarding the PO check and send they offer nothing that any with average intelligence can do for themselves and they often get it wrong

I quite agree with what your saying about maximising sales but some of us do genuinely care and many a time I've advised people to do things that have cost me a sale, its the generalisation that annoys me.
