Questions about redundancy pay.

I was made redundant from my job in the civil service on the 28th of March and was informed I was due a redundancy payment. I was told I would receive it "some time in April".
I found out that the civil service outsourced the handling of my redundancy payment to Capita and apart from a letter stating the amount I was receiving and asking for my bank details back on 31st March I have heard nothing from them since.
A couple of my former colleagues who were also made redundant and who I am still in touch with have phoned Capita on the matter as the same thing has happened to them. Each of them have been told that Capita can't give them a time frame on how long it will take until they receive their payments. I have also emailed Capita on the matter but am still waiting on a response.
Since I am unemployed at the moment this money will obviously help me out at but as the month has drawn on and with the lack of contact it has left me rather worried.
So I am wondering if anyone out there has gone through this same situation?
How long should it take for my redundancy pay to be paid to me and how long do I wait before I complain about the entire situation? And who do I complain to?
