Snagging Lists on New Build

Hi,
Just wondered if anyone else has had problems with builders when buying a new build.
We complete tomorrow (not our first new build) and there is a list as long as your arm of snagging to do.
My biggest bug bear is that they have turfed the back garden without compressing the ground or laying sand - just turned it over and threw down the turf, needless to say it has gone yellow and is rotting in many areas. The fencing is not down to ground level with a gap of around 6-8".
As these were put in FOC would it be unreasonable to ask them to remove the turf and re-do the fence? I'm pretty sure that somewhere in the purchase price the fencing and turf will be covered!
What are your thoughts please.

Can't help but we've had non-stop issues on our new build regarding the bath. They hadn't set the bath properly firstly, and secondly the waste water pipe they had cut too small leaving a very small gap (!!!!) which did huge damage to our living room ceiling underneath, which we only realised when the paint started bubbling months later as it was a very small but continuous leak.
Unfortunately we only discovered this after the time to mention snagging expired and they won't have anything to do with it.
Good luck though.0 -
even if those items are free they still form part of the deal that you accepted and are paying for so it is reasonable to ask them get it right. Check your NHBC guarantee documents - maybe something mentioned in there regarding what the standards should be0
