Hi Guys,
I am a first time buyer and looking for house for last couple of weeks. Recently I have seen a house which tick almost all my boxes, however this house is at the corner of a big roundabout.
Google map location
I am bit confused about the roundabout bit. Any pros/ cons that you can guys can think of?
Many thanks

Well, you only have to look one way when exiting your driveway!
Actually apart from the traffic noise (which is a lower speed vs. more revving trade off that should be quite obvious from spending time there), I think the main awkward thing would be coming into the driveway.
Drivers on roundabouts are very useful to sailing right around and may not cope well with a vehicle slowing to pull in.
Also may be an issue for parking up removals etc.
Not a deal breaker, but I'd have to spend some time there and understand how things worked.0 -
Go and sit in the vicinity on different days of the week and different times of the day. The picture looks quiet enough but have the boy racers decided that it is a challenge for them. My brother in law lives near to a mini roundabout in a quiet town but the boy racers see the island as somewhere to do wheelies and hand brake turns or whatever thet call it nowadays.0

Looking at its proximity to M1 J11 could it be a bit of a rat-run in the mornings/evenings?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

What you need to understand OP is if the house was not on the roundabout it would probably not be in your budget.
I have a friend who owns a house and 6 acres of land that is bisected by a railway line, I asked if this was detrimental to his property. His reply was 'I give thanks everyday for the railway line, if it wasn't there I could never afford this house and land'
It's probably the same for you.0 -

nope, not really. it is a 3 bed semi detached and seller is asking for 180K. The market price for 3 bed semi detached around that area is about same, so it is not a bargain.0
