Barclaycard balance transfer query

Hello

I'd appreciate some advice if possible:

I applied for my Barclaycard last bank holiday weekend, as part of the sign up process I told them that I wanted to do a balance transfer from a Tesco credit card and I gave them the necessary details. Before I received the credit card on Saturday the balance transfer was showing as a blue bar in my Barclaycard portal. I registered the card after receiving it on Saturday and on Sunday I checked my account online, the balance transfer is no longer showing at all and I have all of the credit limit available, In the Tesco portal it still shows that I owe them the amount I transferred to Barclays. Is this normal? It appears to have happened since the card was registered. I rang Barclays yesterday and they said it’ll appear tomorrow (Monday) it hasn’t, they are now saying that it’ll show up tomorrow.

I have not received any notification that the balance transfer has failed for any reason and to be honest I’m struggling to think of a reason as to why it’d show up online until the card was registered.

Am I worrying over nothing?

Thanks

Might be worth giving them a call, Barclaycard are usually quite good at processing BTs. I did two on a new card two weeks ago, applied Wednesday, BTs both cleared within a week.

Yeah I've given them a call and the latest is that it'll be transferred by tomorrow, I just don't get why one minute it was there and the next it wasn't.

Also, is it 31 months interest free on balance transfers for the inital transfer only? In my Barclaycard portal it says that balance transfers are charged at 6% interest.

    Weird, I use Google Chrome...

So basically any balance transfers made within the 31 month time frame will be 0% interest, not just my initial balance transfer?

The good news is I popped into my local Barclays branch and a friendly girl has resolved my initial balance transfer, there was a problem due to a 'technical issue'.

my Barclaycard is also showing 6.9 for life instaed of 31months, they are aware of this, they can process bts over the phone at the 31months though.

don't forget to be cheeky and ask them for a £10 credit to cover the cost of the call you have had to make - they will gladly comply with your request, so that's a free 10er if you use your mobile to call them using the outside the uk number (aslong as you have free minutes)

I'm deaf so ringing them to do a balance transfer would be a nightmare, are they fixing the My Barclay Card interest error? If not I may have to go back to my branch if I need to do any more balance transfers.

Ah mine has done the same, the 28 month 0% isn't showing and I'm being offered 6.9%, emailed them but at least it seems to be a glitch.

But no, the 31 month offer will normally only apply to transfers made within the first 60 days, which will be at 0% until 31 months after the account was opened (not necessarily 31 months from the transfer date).

I haven't had my fee refund yet either (should be reduced to 2.44% within two days), so hope that turns up soon. They're usually quite good at throwing £10/£20 compensation for their mistakes when they occur though.

    Thank you, that's very helpful.

Just when I thought this short tale had a happy ending.

Upon logging onto My Barclay Card portal it appears that two balance transfers have gone through, the original one that had 'technical issues' that was meant to have been cancelled and the one that they set up yesterday, leaving my Tesco Card in credit by a few hundred quid. I'm going to my Barclay's branch first thing, is there a procedure to resolve this?

Quick update: Barclay's have admitted fault and one of the balance transfers will be sent back to the Tesco card within 48 hours. Whether any interest or fees accrued will be paid automatically by Barclay's like I was told is another story I fear.
