When we start out on the Debt-Free Wannabe trail we do loads of big "stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the Gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free...
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending. :money:
Morning Been up for an hour, so need to get myself dressed & ready and start work soon. Have (as always!) loads to do so starting at 7.30 (ish) to try to squeeze some extra time in. Quite proud of myself workwise, as after a week of being back I am snowed under, got an email from my boss saying I need to get some tasks done by today. So I emailed her back & asked her to go through my workload with me when we meet up tomorrow and decide what she wants me to focus on. I am not going to run myself into the ground again like I was before going on holiday!
Also found out at the end of last week that in the restructure no one has been appointed to my job, so it is open to me (and others!) to express an interest. Should now find out in the next couple of weeks if I have a job...
Weekend was glorious! :j Just pottered around and relaxed. Was great to have some down time
Back on the horse today then guys, hope you're all raring to go
Things for today:
* get ready & work from home this morning, possibly all day but that depends on whether my boss wants me to cancel the meeting I have this afternoon and focus on the task she wants me to do
* all meals from stores - lunch is hm veg & barley soup using YS 19p pack of soup vegetables
* get chicken breasts out of freezer for dinner
* hang washing on line
* hopefully bid & win vacuum cleaner am watching on ebay - dd broke ours
* do car checks - didn't do at weekend
* check onepoll
* call Tesco ISA, close it down & transfer to Santander 123 account (better interest rate!)
* call & switch 2 dds to above account
* remind oh to send off refund for taxi back from airport
* chop up & freezer YS peppers
* plant strawberry plants
* finish book - have loved the book I have been reading Never let me go by Kazuo Ishiguro. Lovely but dark! Happy to email it to anyone's kindle if you want it? PM me your addy if you want me to send
Ok that'll do for today! Have a great day x

Hi all,
Haven't been around as much but have stayed on the DFW train! Paid off a credit card this morning which feels amazing, and for the first time ever we also have a tiny emergency fund. We hope to eventually get it up to £1000. Feels awesome!
I bought a Two Together Railcard using the 10% off code which will save us a lot in rail fees. I've also handmade every present I've given over the last few weeks.0 -

Well done! That must feel good. May I ask where you spotted 10% off the rail card? I've been meaning to get one!0 -

Thanks for birthday wishes. Am having a fab day. Have been thoroughly spoiled by Mr f & have received some lovely gifts. Got down for breakfast today to find a birthday cake complete with candles which B&B owner had baked for me. How kind was that?! Haven't been TOO spendy, but I have treated myself to a rather lovely top.....think it was getting those sexy boots as a present which set me off :-) Pub next, then home tomorrow to pick up my mse ways where they left off.
