Hi everyone
The earphone function on my laptop has been damaged after I accidentally leaned across and bent the connecting part of the earphones going into the laptop. it seems to have damaged the socket where you plug them in.
I'm not used to laptops, is this something that can be fixed easily/not too expensively or not?
Thanks

it's possible you've broken to socket away from the motherboard, so dismantling and soldering a replacement may be needed - my guess £50 - 80 to get someone to fix it?
I had a sound card fail on a laptop and bought one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/LINDY-USB-2-0-Audio-Adapter/dp/B000QY2G2U
It replaces the internal sound card - good quality too (avoid the £3 versions on ebay if you go this route)0 -
Thanks it seems to be something about the socket...if I hold the earphone connecting part in a certain position I can hear fine...but holding it like that just isn't the same, lol
Especially if watching a whole movie or something...lol0 -
assuming you've tried another pair of headphones, and your headphone pin isn't bent, it's probably just a loose internal connection, take it apart and have a look.

it may need soldering, or another part (headphone jack), but may not
if you google or search on youtube for your model, you may find a repair guide.!!
