Good luck! Keep up the good work.
  • Hello All,:j

And thanks M0ney & SKA1982 for your kind words.

It's been a very quiet week.

I’ve just counted all the coins in my £2 collection jar. I’ve got £170, it’s taken two years to collect this (I don’t use cash all that often). I know when I get to £500 I should OP but I have this money ear marked for something a little bit special. When I get to £500 I’m going to go wing walking!
    Have a good weekend all!:j

  • Hi There!:hello:

It’s been a busy old week for me this week! :D

Money wise this week I opened another current account, this time it’s First Direct, which gets me to 7! It’s like an addiction! I opened this one to take advantage of the 6% savings account attached to it. I’m having a little trouble setting up the Internet side of it though. I also switched my Gas & Electricity this week, I went with first utility, I should save about £70 for the year and I should also get £50 cash back through TC. :T

Last weekend I tried AcroYoga for the first time. It was good fun, but you do get into some very strange and intimate positions with complete strangers! :o I also went out to a restaurant to celebrate my Dad’s birthday which was lovely. :)

This week I went on a mini-holiday to Somerset with an old Friend. We had a silly day at Wooky Hole, a city day in Bath and a country day in Glastonbury. We had a wonderful time but spent rather a lot of money. _pale_ P.S. I miss the comfy mattress at the B&B. So I must behave for the rest of the month. That’ll be tricky; I’m going shopping with my Mum next week!

I thought I’d done all my xmas shopping, but now I’ll be seeing my aunt, uncle, cousin and assorted others on Christmas day, so I need to get more presents including a secret Santa at work. :santa2: I’ve just withdrawn £12.78 from TC look out Amazon here I come! Also I just bought a present for someone at work, we don’t do xmas presents but I saw it and couldn’t resist – a Roman soldier rubber duck!

Well there's my update. Enjoy the rest of your weekend

  • Happy Weekend people! :hello:

Well, it’s been a strange mix of a week.

I went to watch a pole showcase on Sunday, they were mostly beginners but I was very impressed at how brave they were since they were all doing solo routines. And it was nice to see some old faces.:)

My shopping day with Mum got curtailed by the Weather so we just went out for Lunch instead. At least that kept my spending down.;)

I went to Arial Hoop, two Pilates classes & two Pole classes so I fell super fit this week!:p

Work has been crazy, while I’ve been busy on one project there has been a disaster elsewhere! Well fixing that will be next week’s top priority - If I can - it's a total nightmare. On top of that my assistant at work has handed in her resignation so now I have to find a new one and get them up to scratch. Not a job I’m looking forward too!:(

On the money front, I’m waiting for more info from my utilities switch and my latest current account before they can both be completed. Hopefully the New current account with adjoining savings account will be sorted by the end of the month.:p

I’m currently on a 2.5% tracker mortgage deal. The speculation is the interest rates will rise later next year, so there is no immediate rush to fix however I have found a 4yr fix deal at 2.59% with no fee. This extra 0.09% equates to £45 per annum. The ERCs are quite restrictive (10% initial balance), currently I have no ERCs. The current rate after the deal ends is 3.99%. The plan is to pay off the balance after this fix ends but I worry what will happen if things don’t go to plan. I keep going round in circles. I can’t decide whether to switch now or hold on a little while longer? :undecided:wall:

    Bye for now

  • Pay day today! I got a bonus, :jI can’t believe it, and I really thought work would fiddle the numbers so they wouldn’t have to pay. Now what shall I do with it? Book a fantastic holiday, buy a new TV or Computer, or maybe splash out on a new winter wardrobe? Of course not, I’ll OP! :DAlso we were told how much we’d get and I used my own salary calculator to work out how much would reach my pocket. Unfortunately they messed up on the pension contributions so I can’t tell of it worked correctly. :mad:It also means I’ll be getting paid less next month to compensate for the overpayment this month. I know it’s silly but I’m not looking forward to that pay check!

My Gas & Electricity switch is already done. I only submitted my request two weeks ago and my first Direct Debit will leave my account on the 5th December. That’s almost 1 month sooner than I expected. :p I had to call my current provider to make sure I didn’t get penalised for technically leaving early, £30 per utility! Luckily I was within the window. So won’t get charged. ;)

Last weekend my Dad came round and helped me paint my Kitchen cupboards. I’d been meaning to do it for ages but kept putting it off. The cupboards are white but some were starting to go yellow, so they’ve all been given a lick of paint and my kitchen looks almost new! He also managed to fix my garage door, so that’s saved me a load of money, all I need to do now is get some garage paint and tart it up a bit. Good old Dad!:T

I got a brand new haircut yesterday. I wanted something a bit different from the boring layered Bob I’ve had for the past I don’t know how many years. It didn’t pan out to well I wint for pretty much the same old thing, but I’m going back next week to get highlights, I’ve never had them before. So at least that will be a bit different.

    And as it’s almost the end of the month I’ll do my monthly round-up;

I opened some savings & good interest current accounts, switched my gas & electricity. I got a bonus, started using my new 0% credit card and searched the mortgage market. I had a lovely mini-holiday and kept busy with all sorts of activities this month including a new hair cut and did some little bits of xmas shopping.

  • Afternoon Everyone:hello:

    What a week! …

Wow, I got an amazing Birthday/Christmas gift from my Mum this year. She gave me a substantial amount of money. :DApparently she had given my sister money to buy a car, and is giving me the same. I had no idea she had helped out my sister (though that does make a few recent conversations make a bit more sense) so she really didn’t have to. But I’m really grateful! She said I could do what I like with it; however I have to keep a little bit aside for ‘mad’ money. So I don’t use the whole thing for sensible stuff like mortgage. She knows me so well!:rotfl:

On an unrelated note, I put £5000 into my mortgage this week. I’m now under the 50k mark!:p

I went to Bath last Saturday, work put on a coach to go to the Xmas markets. They were lovely; I went with a couple of friends and had a good old mooch about. I managed not to spend too much and had hot chestnuts (a Christmas fair must!). Then on Sunday I went to out to breakfast, an extremely rare treat, and then on to the UKPPC (UK Professional Pole Championships) the competitors were amazing and have given me lots of ideas for things to try and lots of things that if I did try I would probably break my neck!
    Happy Weekend!

  • Happy Weekend:hello:
It's been quiet on the MSE front this week:

I had my Eye Lashes lifted and tinted at the weekend. They look really good and the best part is that when I go home for Christmas I won’t turn into a panda when my allergies flare up. I had my hair done again this week. I wanted a perm but the hairdresser said no, so she gave me a more edgy do.;)

I had the Works Do this weekend. We all get £30 towards a meal. So it was a cheap night! We went to a fusion restaurant. The place was packed, the food was good and the cocktails were delish! :p

I went to my Mum’s carol concert this week. She was really good; I didn’t really recognise many of the songs though. They seem to mix up the words and the tunes. At least they were in English, a definite improvement on the last one of her concerts I went to when I didn’t have a clue what was going on.
    Bye All:beer:

  • Hi Guys:santa2:
This will be my final post before Christmas:rudolf:. It's been another fairly uneventful week. I went back to Zumba last weekend for the first time in about 3 months:dance: it was hard going but good for me and I'll make sure I keep it up this time.:A

I went out for a few drinks at Lunchtime today. A lady from work's leaving do. It wasn't very well attended but I think it's just a bad time for people. Everyone is really busy at the moment:beer:

This weekend I'm off to a Christmas party at my pole place, _party_there will be a little show and a quiz, mulled wine and mince pies. Ah Lovely!:coffee:

I'm actually away on business Monday & Tuesday, I'll be driving, so I should be able to make £100 on the trip (petrol money), that'll be a nice bit of Christmas spending money. I finish work on Xmas eve, but we always get to leave very early, :D

    :xmassign: Merry Christmas everyone!
