received NTK UKCPS question about appeal

Options
I have received a NTK from UKCPS stating that I must now pay the increased fine of £100. I am intending on sending the appeal letter that I found in the Newbies section off tomorrow. However, I was wondering whether I have to include information such as; name, address, vehicle registration number etc.. I know in the newbies section it said not to identify yourself, but on the UKCPS website it states under their appeals section that you need to include all of this information in order to invoke the appeals process. Should I just ignore this though and send the appeal with just the reference number for the ticket and no further information?

their ref number and the appeal template is sufficient, they already have the RK details which is how you got the NTK

I never know why some people say the NEWBIES thread says not to identify yourself? I don't recall typing that and obviously they already have the keeper's name and address and you have to say who you are when appealing!

It says in the sticky not to say who was driving - but that's a different thing to the keeper appealing with the template which clearly says 'keeper's name' at the bottom. They do not need your real signature though.

By the way, can you tell us if your NTK says that the time to appeal has elapsed and that the keeper can only appeal if the car was stolen or sold? If so that needs a complaint to the BPA. I thought the BPA had told UKCPS to address that lie.

I apologise, I was not specific. It says on the UKCPS website that you need to identify yourself as the keeper or driver of the car. As advised on the Newbies appeal letter I will say "as the registered keeper". No it doesn't say its too late to appeal. I will send the letter off today, hopefully that will be enough to get it cancelled, but from looking on other threads that seems doubtful. Thanks for your help

You win at POPLA though - so just laugh if they are daft enough to reject and waste their £27 on POPLA for you!

Sorry, I need some more advice. The parking fine was sent to my house, so I was talking to my mum about what it said and she told me that it didn't say the amount of time to appeal has elapsed, however she sent the fine to me at the house I am living at currently, and she had not read the letter clearly. It does say that the time to appeal has now elapsed and that I can only appeal if the car was stolen or sold. Can you advise me what I should do now in this situation? I have sent the appeal letter off already.

Ok, it has in fact been over 28 days though. Apparently the ticket was issued on my windscreen on 21st March, and I received the letter through the post on 25 April. However, I didn't ever see a notice left on my windscreen, even though they claim to have put one there. I therefore had no chance to appeal within those 28 days because I didn't even know I had a ticket!

Yes but that's what we advise in the NEWBIES thread anyway, of course, appealing once you get the first letter.

Ok, so I should write a letter of complaint to the BPA concerning the fact that UKCPS has told me I can't appeal after 28 days of receiving the ticket, and I know this to be untrue?
