Getting redress for over-tightended wheel bolts

so your the sensible car driver that doesn't check to make sure vehicle is ok when you drive the car, what happens if the wheel bolts had come loose & wheel fell off due to the vehicles wheel nuts not been checked?0 -

And an exhaust falling off doesn't have quite the capacity for chaos that a wheel falling off does.0

There's a few idiots on here who think that the daily check of the vehicle involves getting the torque wrench out, if I take my car to a garage to have tyres fitted or a new air filter or a ball joint I don't feel the need to check their work at all0

After 50-100 check they are tight, yes totally but not as soon as you get home and not as a regular check. Even checking them after the wheel has settled wouldn't tell you that they were too tight because you wouldn't be trying to slacken them.0

Last time I was told it was 20 miles so it could be as soon as you get home.0 -
But have to ever checked to see if they are too tight? I certainly havnt0
