PPI Query

Hi
It has been confirmed that I did have PPI on a car loan from 2003-2007 however the broker is no longer trading. I contacted the FSCS but they have advised that they can only help for policies which were taken out after 2005. I don't have any documentation on this loan. Is there any other way I can proceed with this claim or am I too late??
Thanks
