Madagascar Dragon Tree - brown ends on leaves

Hi all,
Never posted in this section before but looking for some advice for my Madagascar Dragon Tree.
The ends of the leaves have started to go brown/drop off. I have increased the watering, but the water seems to 'sit' on top of the soil for a couple of days and then all of a sudden it is dried out again.
I also spray the leaves with water regularly.
I wonder if I already know the answer to my question - when I bought it it was planted into a standard brown pot from the garden centre. I took it out of this pot and put it into a black ceramic pot - which has no holes in the bottom. Could this be a source of my problem?
Thanks in advance

Yes l think it needs to come out of the pot to see what the roots are doing. If the plant itself is not green but yellowing you are overwatering, water should never be sitting on top of the soil.

What should I be looking for in the roots? Do I maybe need to put it in a bigger pot?
It sits on the top as if it is just taking its time to sink in? But then it dries out really quickly.
The edges are more brown than yellow.
Thanks

Where you live might have a bearing on this. Following the high/storm winds in February, there is hardly a tree/plant that isn't showing signs of windburn on the south coast, (Dorset in particular), many things looked dead until recently, but have survived. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I was wondering if it was 'pot bound'. The roots would have gone round and round in the pot and not have anymore room to move into.

This is an indoor plant?

I often wondered what those things were in Wilkinsons, they have dozens of them and they seem to die quite quickly in there. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
