Utility Warehouse and Santander

Just thought I'd pass this on, as a thank you to everyone who has helped me 'get organised'.
The Santander 123 account gives cashback of 2% on gas and electric bills with the main providers, and 3% cashback on phone/broadband etc deals with the main providers.
Our gas and electric is through Utility Warehouse, but they weren't listed on the Santander website so I rang Santander to check that I would get my 2% cashback. They confirmed that I would in fact get 3%back, as Utility Warehouse is classed as a telecoms company. Yay!!!
I don't know how Utility Warehouse compare with other energy suppliers - we continued with them when we moved in here as the people before us had used them. The intention is to compare once we've been in a year - but in the meantime I'm looking forward to getting 3% of it back!!

Best to do your own comparison, as your usage and area will be unique.trailingspouse wrote: »I don't know how Utility Warehouse compare with other energy suppliers
But as a toe-in-the-water, my gas and electricity would rise by £232 a year if I switched to them, according to Cheap Energy Club.0 -
Thanks for that - you've reminded me that I haven't in fact done the comparison yet. (*Hangs head in shame*).
Will add it to my 'Things to Do in the New Year' list.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -

are you sure you've read the post you've quoted Quentin?0

As your spamming/advertising post is quoted in full we can all see you "omitted" to declare you are a uw rep.
???
Plantaria has made no other recent posts about UW, and has made a valid point about them getting cash back from Santander... Why would you think they are a rep?
If anything, they are offering the benefits of a Santander account rather than being a UW customer!0 -
He has previously revealed he is a rep.???

It was actually the OP (not the rep) who made the point regarding the Santander loophole!
As far as this thread goes it was billbennet who provided the real point (that the extra 1% cashback from Santander is a poor return to anyone paying the expensive UW energy charges!)
(UW reps do know they should declare their interest, and that UW should not be discussed outside the dedicated UW backwater thread in the energy forum)0 -
thanks SuperHan.. i was just confirming that Santander do recognise UW DDs and pay out cashback on them.
