My 18 year old daughter is thinking of applying for a credit card so she can start to build her credit rating. She is hopefully off to university in October. Is that a good idea and are there any companies that are likely to look on her favourably
thanks

Yes, it is a great idea as many top employers require degrees thesedays.
(Best for her to get a student credit card through whover she gets her student account with).0 -
Yup, like the poster above me has said, it's best to go with the bank she has her student account with. Keep in mind, not all banks who issue student accounts offer a student credit card.
If she hasn't opened her student account, it may be worth doing a little research and finding out what each account offers. She may want to choose one that's got a decent free overdraft in case of emergencies as well as a credit card.0 -
probably too early to open a student a/c so bets to wait until that time to get a CC0
