I am finding it difficult to understand Section 75 Consumer Credit Act.
If I pay the deposit of say £200.00 for a holiday on my Debit Card and then pay £50 .00 on my Credit Card and then the balance on my Debit Card for the holiday prior to traveling.
Will I get Section 75 protection if the say the holiday company goes bust or something similar.

Don't waste your time on trying to understand something that makes very little sense.I am finding it difficult to understand Section 75 Consumer Credit Act.
You will - even if you pay just £5 or less.If I pay the deposit of say £200.00 for a holiday on my Debit Card and then pay £50 .00 on my Credit Card and then the balance on my Debit Card for the holiday prior to traveling.

Just remember you need to pay the holiday company direct - not through an agent.0

If one is booking a package holiday the money HAS to be paid to a travel agent. Holiday companies will not deal with you direct if you book through a travel agent.0 -

I see your point re:- ATOL, but a travel insurer would not be interested.0 -
Of course they would - make sure that a holiday company going broke is part of the travel policy.0

Insurance companies will not pay for insolvency except for a direct booking with a hoteljonesMUFCforever wrote: »Of course they would - make sure that a holiday company going broke is part of the travel policy.
It seems the only protection for a foreign holiday is ATOL.0 -
I suggest you read any travel insurance policy - if a company goes bust and leaves you in limbo - if you do not have cover under the protection of ATOL, credit cards you claim (provided they cover this - some will some won't) from your travel insurance.
This is one example of an article that I found
