Flashed in France

Just back from an amazing driving trip around France and Belgium. Unfortunately I was flashed by a speed camera on the French motorway. I think I may have been doing 130 instead of the 110 limit that was set - not 100% sure as I was still adjusting to the new limits/signs etc (first time driving abroad).

I'll be going back to France in two months so I obviously don't want this to come back and bite me on the behind.

Is there a way I can pay the fine or will it eventually find its way to me? Should I just forget about it or try and do something to pay it? I really don't want to get pulled when I go back!

I actually do want to pay it though if it is possible. I did speed and break their laws after all...

Thanks.

Happily I don't think there is (yet?) a mechanism for French (or German) automated speeding tickets to be enforced in the UK but I suspect if you write to the French police in the area concerned they might find a way of accepting payment

So you were learning how to drive on their roads by going FASTER than their speed limits, not slower! How unsafe!

Other than contacting them there isn't any way to pay and they won't contact you in UK.

It's possible if you are in France again with same car and get pulled over then the previous ticket may show. Same happened to us and have been back since with no issues.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Were you driving your car or a hire car? If a hire car then the car hire companies charge you an admin fee for providing the French authorities with your details.
If you were driving your own car and you get notification through the post that means the French authorities must have got them from the DVLA which means cross border co-operation.
Many expat forums have accounts of the French using a UK registered debt collection company to collect fines.

At the moment you are just speculating, wait to see if anything arrives in the post.

Oh shush you LOL. Go away.

Thanks for the replies everyone else. I was driving my own car so fortunately no hire company will fleece me dry this time. It'll be the same car I'll be using when I go back around June time. Guess I'll just have to wait and see - just didn't want my car seized or something if they pull me over next time I go.

Just to say that all speed cameras in France USED to be preceded by a warning sign so no excuse for being flashed.
Ones installed in the last year or so do not have to have the warning but I have never seen one.
