Am i right in thinking that a parking ticket is invalid if there is a mistake on the letter? My car is gold but the letter the council sent me says it is silver.

The colour is irrelevant.
But it may be invalid for other reasons, such as incorrect signage, or the actual wording on the ticket.
Go to the Council tickets section on the Pepipoo forums for expert advice.
