Unauthorised Transaction

Hi,

I noticed an unauthorised transaction on my online banking account. I called my bank today and they say I have to contact the merchant as the money has not actually left the account yet as it is only an authorisation. They say they won't investigate until the money has actually left my account and in the meantime if the merchant releases the funds back into my account before it leaves, they still won't investigate.

I'm very annoyed with this and would like some advice if possible. I have a paid account and it is with TSB

Whats more important is who has taken the payment and how did they get your details?

Was the payment taken by card (credit or debit)? What was the amount?
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

Do as they say and wait to see if claimed or released.

You say unauthorised transaction, that to me means that some stranger or a company I have never dealt with has gone into my account. Can you give the full story please?

    Which company?
Have you had recent dealings ie purchases?
    If so for how much?
How much is the reserved amount
    etc
    etc
    etc
