Thanks Enterprise 1701C. We have told the girls and explained that he will be buried in the garden, and we have just looked at some photos of him on the computer.
I think they understand they won't see him again. I will wait and see if they ask where he is in the morning.
The youngest had a few tears along with me and DH, but the eldest (only 6) seemed fine and understood that he was now playing with nannies dog in doggy heaven.
Sorry to hear your news damo5134 and your right, I think it does help talking about it. My girls where absolutely distraught when our cat died suddenly :sad:(she was only a young cat) but it did help involving them. They chose some momentos to place in the little grave with her, favourite toys, photos, etc and I do think it helped them understand. x0 -
