    Hi MrRee and ukcarper

I know property is not stupidly high everywhere, affordability is earnings (more credit worthiness) vs house prices, and I know there are 'cheap' houses in some places but jobs and avg wage in those areas is probably low. So I'm sorry, but you can't suggest there are 'cheap' houses without quoting the avg wage in the area.

I can see that BTL'ers appear to have been forced into it, this is something I have also posted about before now. MrRee have you looked at the growth of stocks and shares since 2008 inc FTSE? Do you think investing in UK business would be something you could be 'forced' into if the gov changed tax incentives for BTL and brought in rules, regs and laws to control the housing market?

The reasons BTL is such an attractive option for money making is gov policy, and the banks both of whom have allowed it to happen. We needed BTL to grow because of gov dropping social housing, which itself was a BAD move. It has now gone too far in the environment we have been through with low house building and we need to stop BTL taking more market share.

TPP - for what it's worth, property is a surefire asset for growth - shares are not.

And, currently, BTL is the single standout investment. And those who invest should not be hated in any way, shape or form.

The fact you have nicely demonstrated exactly what I said my post is very amusing. With the added hypocrisy regarding sound bites it is almost side splitting :-)
When you can present something plausible and sensible instead of your anti BTL agenda maybe we can have that 'discussion'.

Until then you're a bit of a laughing stock...

I'm not sure why you take the time to explain this to him, it's been done so many times.

Either he can't understand what you're explaining or he doesn't get it.

    Hi Chucky

If you look at my historical posts, I have been debating and suggesting ideas for increasing house buildings. House building rates over recent history is obviously one of the reasons why we have high house prices.

    Please do not misrepresent me.
    Peace.

It's not me misrepresenting you, it's you misrepresenting yourself.

Who is going to live in all these houses that you want to build?
  • The guaranteed growth you mention is something that should have been set up for pension funds to invest in, not individuals.

I never mentioned any guaranteed growth, that's a different answer to a different question.

How about if you try and answer the question for a change instead of avoiding it just to put some soundbites in... Let's try again, it's not hard.

Pension funds DO invest in property!

As do individuals who have a natural desire to better themselves (that's how they got the spare cash in the first place of course).

Why do you hate BTL buyers so much, we are just people doing a job!?

The median full time male wage for the north west is £26,830 for a woman it is £21,679. The average price of a terrace house is £66k while a semi is £112k.

I agree the reduction in social housing was bad but restricting BTL will not increase social housing.
