Hi there,

Could anyobody recommend us a solicitor for for the purchasing of a house? We have been checking online and got some cheaper ones like Thelma Horne from Bespoke Law Services, Claire Watson from Ross Coates, John Miller from Lawcomm solicitors and Fridaysmove. Has anyboday used any of those?

Thank you very much in advance.

Sorry I don't have any experience of the solicitors or companies you have mentioned.

Try searching for a solicitor who specialises in conveyancing (the buying and selling of property). Ideally someone who is located close by to you helps a lot.
  • Try the regulatory body for Licensed Conveyancers: clc-uk.org and if you scroll down the home page, type in your post code and a list of CLC regulated practices will come up.

Can throughly recommend Fidler Pepper based in Mansfield.

Their online tracking is particularly excellent and detailed, and there is a named conveyancer on the end of the phone when you need to call. Responses to emails within working hours from 10 mins to 5 hours.

Didn't have any problems whatsoever with the fact that we were 200 miles away from them. Have now used them 3 times and, having used 2 different local solicitors as I was told local was better, I can honestly say I will continue using Fidler Pepper, many miles away.

Though hope to not need them again for another 5 years at least having just completed in the last fortnight.

If you need a mortgage, ensure your conveyancer/solicitor is on the panel of the lender concerned.
