Phone sent for repair by CPW

I got my Samsung Galaxy S3 new 8 months ago on contract to Orange for 2 years from CPW. The last couple of weeks it's not been cnnecting to either Wifi or Bluetooth. I've tried all the suggestions online to know effect and apparently it is a common problem with these phones and needs a proper repair.
So I took it back to CPW and the best they can do they say is to send it away for repair which could take up to 3 weeks and in the meantime they will loan me a phone that I think was last used by Fred Flinstone. No camera, no wifi, no internet, no calendar, no picture messages nothing except phone and text. Now my phone is vital to me in my job. I deliberately pay a fairly high monthly amount so I have unlimited data. Also all my appointments and notes etc are kept on my phone (backed up before I took it back) but no use to me at the moment. If, say, a kettle went wrong within the first 12 months you could insist on a new kettle. You wouldn't have to accept it being sent away for repair. Does that not apply with phones? Anyone any advice?
There will always be:
A “LIE” in BELIEVE, an “OVER” in LOVER, an “END” in FRIEND, an “US” in TRUST , and an “IF” in LIFE ;)

If the retailer wanted to send the kettle for repair then they are allowed to choose that option.
You can ask for a refund or replacement but they are not legally obliged to honour your choice.

All the sale of goods act states is that if a repair is to be carried out then it should be carried out within a reasonable time. (this time isn't actually defined).
As they state "up to" 3 weeks, it may well be far quicker than this.

Im afraid CPW are within their rights to send the phone away to get it repaired. If they were goingto stick to the letter of the law, as the phone is over 6 months old, they could ask you to get an independent report to show that the fault is an inherent fault.

Its cheaper to get a £400 phone repaired then it is a £15 kettle.

As all high end Samsung phones come with a 24 month warranty, When I had a faulty S3 I liaised direct with Samsung with expedited the repair.

All CPW could really do is to factory reset the phone . If its a hardware fault then Samsung service agents will change components/ motherboard .
Its certainly not a common SGS3 problem . My guess would be after all this time working its a lose connection or water damage .
Unfortunately your high end contract is for the network not the phone .
