Pension credit mortgage help

Hi

I know you can go online and find out if your entitled to pension creidt and if so how much but is there a way of finding out what sort of amount they help help with mortgage payments, without phoning them directly?

I have been off work sick and just trying to work out what options we have if I dont manage to go back.

Thanks in advance

they pay 3.6% of the interest on the original amount borrowed.
if you have additional borrowing against your mortgage them it would be disregarded

And keep your eyes peeled about potential changes to the SMI scheme.

Noises from the government are that they are looking to make changes, that they might even consider replacing the benefit paid to home owners into a loan with a charge placed on the property. I don't know the status or type of proposed changes, though, just read some of the debates and research.

    Support for Mortgage Interest (SMI).

It's help with paying interest, not actual mortgage repayments.

Are you (or will you be) getting one of the qualifying benefits?
