Social Work degree funding?????

Hi everyone. Getting lots of opposing advice regarding funding for the course I've applied for - BA (Hons) Social Work - so hoping someone might help.
Basically, after applying for the course, I received an email from the Uni telling me that I would only get funding (i.e. a tuition fee loan) for 1 year as I have previously studied and received a NHS bursary for 3 years (I graduated with a Dip HE in Nursing Studies in 1998).
I spoke to Student Finance England (twice) who tell me that I can apply for a tuition fee loan for the full 3 years of the course aswell as a maintenance loan and grant.
I have read in other posts that there can be problems getting tuition fee loans if it is for a second degree but that doesn't apply in my case as it will be my first degree....
Does the information I received from Student Finance sound right or is the Uni right????
Thanks in advance.
